Silvia Conde photography

Silvia Conde is a 24-year-old photographer and art director from Barcelona currently living in the South of Germany. We're big fans of her work, as you can see above her photos are amazingly beautiful and delicate, so we've made a little interview with her:

When did you start taking photos? // ¿Cuándo empezaste a hacer fotos?
I would say that when I started the Advertising career. I don't remember very well why my uncle gave me his Yashica. Shortly after I did a course of analogue black-and-white photography, where I also learned to develop. It was here when I realized how much and how I was interested in photography // Diría que cuando empecé la carrera de Publicidad.

What do you want to manifest with your pictures? // ¿Qué quieres expresar con tus fotografías?
The truth is that I have never thought about it. More than manifest, I want to share a way of looking, a way of seeing and interpreting what surrounds me.

What inspires you? // ¿Qué cosas te inspiran?
Lots of things. Including your blog, for many years! For a long time, all the imagery of Sofia Coppola had me fascinated. Lately it inspires me much Flickr and all the photographers you can find. Also some great photographers such as Parker Fitzgerald, Théo Gosselin or Mariam Sitchinava. Magazines such as The Weekender or Kinfolk. And I also love the work of Sophie Calle. Revistas como The Weekender o Kinfolk.

What camera are you using? //¿Qué cámara usas?
The Yashica  MG1 of my uncle, the Olympus Trip 35 of my mother and a Canon A1 I bought recently on Ebay.

What projects do you have? Soft Skin, for example, has many followers, and is a source of inspiration for us. The first number you've published is beautiful, and a great way to learn about different photographers. Could you tell us a little about how it began and what are you planning for the future?

Soft Skin began as a Flickr group a couple of years ago. I liked many photographs that shared some characteristics, sensitive images, with a very special pureness and innocence, always with the skin as the main protagonist. I decided to create a group to have them all together. Little by little, some photographers followed it. Earlier this year, the collection had 1000 beautiful pictures. I thought that it would be worthy to do something with that, and I had the idea of the gallery and the fanzine. For me, it is a wonderful project. It is true that I am very surprised with the result. People writes to you and tells you that they like what you do, I guess that's a good sign. But the merit goes to the photographers who have a photo in the group, since without them the project would not be what it is. I am now preparing the next number, which will be released in mid-July. It is therefore the number of Summer.

Other plans for the future include another project that will also be on paper, in the form of a magazine. This will already be much later, within a few months. Even so, we are already working. I suppose that good work takes time and dedication. These two elements always add great value and are often those who make a difference.
